I finally did it. It was just weird not knowing who was reading my journal. All my entries from now on will be friends only (meaning the only people that will be able to see my entries are the ones that have a livejournal and are listed as my friend). Livejournal is free now... so get one! =)

OMG. I'm watching this home extreme makeover show right now. What happened to the family that is asking for the makeover is so sad! They are a family of 8 kids. Their mom died from an unexpected heart attack. Then, 16 DAYS later, their dad also dies from an unexpected heart attack. Within two weeks, all these kids lost their mom and dad. The two oldest siblings moved back in to get custody of the rest of the kids so that they wouldn't have to go to foster homes.

Wow, everyone on the show doing the makeover has cried at least once.

There is something that always freaks me out about some of my professors. When they erase the board, they leave one arm to the side, just dangling, and it wiggles a little from the pressure and force of erasing with the other arm. It just looks dead. *Creepy*

I was reading an article this morning about gay marriages and at the end of the article was a collection of comments about whether same-sex marriages should be legal. I did not find a single logical explanation from people who were against it because, of course, there are NO logical explanations to be against it. Anyways, I found a comment that I thought was really interesting:

As a gay man I wonder why my tax is good enough to pay for self-righteous bigots to educate their children while my rights as a human being are ignored. My love for my partner is no less or more valid than a heterosexual for their partner. The point has been argued before that heterosexuals who cannot have children can marry. Let's put the bible down because it's a 2,000 year old book of contradictions and is now ineffective as a weapon. A proper rational argument would be welcome.

Chris is coming today! Whoo!! We're probably going to the botanical gardens and movies today.

I also got my camera yesterday, so today is the perfect time to test this baby out. It's sooo small!! Too bad it's so cloudy and gloomy again today. The garden pictures probably won't come out very well.

Okay, gotta run now...but here's a picture of my new camera! =) )

I've been so TIRED the last couple of days. I keep waking up at 8 or 8:30 in the morning...and not on purpose! I can never go back to sleep...so I'm just really tired!

Wednesday was my brother's graduation. It was nice. His speech was really good (and funny)! We ate at Claim Jumper's after all the picture-taking. I have tons of pictures, but I haven't loaded them on my computer yet.

Yup, that's all I've basically done this week. I might go out today, I don't know. I'm feeling so lazy.

Guess who is coming to Carson next week?? =) Yup, Chris!

One more thing, I'm getting a new camera!!! It's one of the Canon Elph cameras, so it's supposed to be tiny! It should be delivered by Monday (crosses fingers!).

I'll post pictures sometime this week.

God.Damn.I am so pissed.
And NO, it's not about the stupid ass lakers game.

I'm going to the SAS (Student Accounting Society) banquet tonight. The attire is business professional (instead of business casual). =( ...so uncomfortable! I think I'm going to be sitting with Haskell & White or Wealth Tax & Advisory.

Anyhoo, camping was good. It was soooooooooo COLD though!! My fingers started getting numb and I thought they were going to fall off. I have lots of pictures...but I'll post them tomorrow (if I don't get too lazy).

And if you want to know what I did instead of my math hw yesterday, here ya go:
I watched American Idol. Fantasia was freakin whack! I thought my TV was going to break when she sang All My Life, but the judges still kissed up to her. I hope Diana wins.

Hmm, what else? Oh, watch Love Actually! It's really good! And while you're at it, watch In America! That's good too.

I'm going camping this weekend with my math frat! Yay! That should be a lot of fun. I've never been to a real campground before...just fake ones for people like me who can't handle being outdoors (one of the ones I went to even had a water park).

I bought shorts this past weekend! Psh, yah, that's actually worth writing about! I haven't worn shorts outside since 11th grade...damn, that's almost four years!!

I wanted to skip out on the cheese (so I'll leave out the details)...but today is going to be such a nice day!! =)

I haven't posted pictures in so long. Tara, email me those pictures!!

Alrite, this post has been so random. I hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!

I'm at the library right now trying to finish up an essay at the computer lab. There is a girl sitting next to me that is listening to music on headphones. She is bopping her head like she is having a seizure.

This is really distracting. I can see her doing it from the corner of my eye, while I'm looking at the monitor.

I should ask her if she's okay. Maybe that'll make her remember that she's at the library and not at a club.

Me: OMG, are you okay??!
Her: Yah, I'm fine, why?
Me: Oh god, I thought you were having convulsions or something.
Her: Oh, no, I'm just sitting here, dancing in my chair like like a maniac...

Hehe, okay, I'll stop being mean. I just really need to finish this essay. Will someone just do some weird voodoo thing and calm this girl down?

I googled Phineas Banning High School (the hs that I went to) and found a page with this quote....

"It is a school rich in tradition and has seen many of its graduates go on to great things. Banning alumni have succeeded in medicine, law, education, professional athletics, and many more respected fields. Many dedicated teachers and administrators have contributed to the lives of the students who have received their educations at Banning High School."

Bahahahahaha!!! Are they talking about the same school I went to???

I just received the most wonderful email from such a wonderful person! Tara, thank you so much!!

I would post her letter for everyone to see so that if anyone is feeling down, they can read it. BUT, I'm going to have to be selfish and save this one for myself. =)

How lucky I am to have such great friends (and a great boyfriend too!)!! =)

I took my tax midterm today and it was h-a-r-d! It wasn't the hardest midterm I've ever had (*cough*Ravetch*cough*), but there were just waaay too many questions. I started rushing at the end, which is scary because we don't get any partial credit. Yah, let me repeat that... NO PARTIAL CREDIT!

Anyways, enough about my midterm. So what has the big J been up to lately? Here's a little summary of the week...

Friday: Spring Sing!! Man, Spring Sing was so good! Actually, Chris and I enjoyed the little skits in between each act more than the acts themselves. They were so funny...I'm not even gonna try to describe what they did...you just had to be there. I am going again next year for sure!! Oh yah, James Taylor was there! He played the guitar and sang two songs. He didn't sing Fire and Rain though. =(

Oh yah, TARA!!...they had guest judges there, and one of the judges was the guy from Passions (Charity's bf/Kay's baby's daddy)!! BTW, they changed the person who plays Kay!! WTF? I never get how they can just replace characters in soap operas.

Saturday: The kids we tutor from Project Literacy took a field trip to UCLA. There was an event called PITA (I forgot what it stands for...but the last two words are 'Through the Arts'). I thought it was just going to be a little thing for the kids from Prolit, but it turned out to be a big event for a bunch of the tutoring organizations on campus. There were so many kids. I was really surprised that they were so well-behaved.

My learner (that's what we call the kids we tutor) was there and I stayed with her the whole time. I am so glad I got paired with her...we get along SOOOO well!! We went on a scavenger hunt after the plays and performances. The kids (and tutors) didn't dig the scavenger hunt because it was a million degrees outside.

After the hunt, we made models of Saturn... using styrofoam balls, glue, glitter, and CDs. Glue + glitter + kids = A huge mess! Hehe, it was still fun though.

The rest of Saturday night was spent studying.

Sunday: I seriously tried to study the whole day...but it was just TOO HOT!!... so Chris and I just spent the whole day laughing at the dumbest things.

Monday - Tuesday: Studying marathon.

Today: The plan was to wake up at 6am to finish studying for tax. Yah. Right. I don't know how many times I pushed the snooze button. I eventually woke up around 8:30.

After my midterm, I went to the math frat meeting. We're going on a camping trip!! I haven't gone camping since....10th grade! My family used to go every year, but I guess we just got lazy. Someone in the frat has a 10-person tent! TEN! How can you possibly fit ten people into one tent?? I never knew they sold tents so big.

Tomorrow: Christina's bday party....Happy Birthday Christina!

Friday: Cinco de Mayo party at Evelyn, Marion, and Laura's apt.

This weekend: Study marathon (again!) for my audit class. =(

So there ya go...I know you've all been itching to get an update from me... cuz my life is soooooo interesting. K, I hope you all caught the sarcasm there.

For you Tara:

I'm taking a quick break and finally updating again....

Today: Went out to Westwood with Mary Grace. There was a terrorist threat (supposedly) around the federal building (or at some mall close to that building), which is really close to Westwood, so that was a bit scary. Well, not scary, just... made us think...'what if'...

Yesterday: Went to Midtier Madness. Man, every time I go to an accounting event, I get so confused about what I want to do in the future. Do I really want to be an accountant? Should I go for one of the Big 4 or a Midtier firm? Should I do tax or audit? Should I go to grad school? MBA or MBT??? Aaaah, I don't know.

Anyways, after the accounting event, I visited Tara in Dykstra. I also visited Shaun. It was so weird going back to Dykstra2... I lived there during my first year and it just brings back so many memories.

Sunday: Chris came to Carson!! He chatted with my parents for a while. Well, more than a while with my dad. They were going crazy talking about orchids. Yah, orchids. After peeling him away from my dad, I took him to DJ Bibingkahan and we ate filipino food!!

Later, we went to the beach with Mae, Elaine, Joseph, Manuel, and some of his buddies. We stood at the pier and watched the surfers for about an hour. Actually, I really wanted to see this girl surf (she was the only girl out there)... but she just sat there, while all the guys out-surfed her. Boo.

Finally, we got off the pier and started playing volleyball. That was fun. THEN, we played PRISONER!!!!!! Oh man, I haven't played that game since elementary!!! I think we got more of a workout from prisoner than volleyball.

So that's what has been going on lately. I also went to the Laugh Factory a while ago with Marion, Laura, Evelyn, and a bunch of other people. That was CRAZY!! We saw this famous comedian from comedy central, some guy that used to host comic view, some guy from CSI, the 7-up guy, and a bunch of other comedians. The theme was latino night (or something like that) and all the comedians made fun of Laura because she's white and blond. Haha, it was so much fun!! Oh, and Marion got hit on by everyone. Hehehe.

Tomorrow, Chris and I are going to Spring Sing! We've been procrastinating sooo much! We were thinking of skipping spring sing to study...but we already have tickets and they're non-refundable...so might as well. It should be lots of fun though!

"Being married to her was like going to heaven..."
Awww...isn't that so sweet?? That's what Maria Shriver's dad said about her mom. I know, I know, it's not the most poetic thing in the world...but it's just so simple and sweet. Yah, I'm in a super cheesey mood today.... =)
